Daniel Pesina

Daniel Pesina is a renowned martial artist and actor best known for his iconic portrayal of Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Smoke, and Noob Saibot in the original Mortal Kombat (1992) and its sequel, Mortal Kombat II (1993). Born in Chicago in 1959, Pesina began his martial arts journey at the age of 10 and has trained under esteemed masters in various disciplines, including Wushu and Kung Fu. His expertise and charisma brought these legendary characters to life, leaving an indelible mark on the gaming industry. Beyond his work in Mortal Kombat, Pesina has appeared in films such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) and Book of Swords (1996), showcasing his versatility as a performer.

After parting ways with Midway Games in 1994, Pesina continued to contribute to the gaming world by assisting in the development of Tattoo Assassins and Thea Realm Fighters. He also co-starred in the video game-based comedy film Press Start (2007). In addition to his acting career, Pesina is a dedicated martial arts instructor, teaching at the Chicago Wushuguan School and conducting seminars across North and South America. His deep connection to the Mortal Kombat franchise and his engaging presence make him a sought-after guest at conventions and events, where he shares his experiences and insights into the making of the iconic games.
